Description:
A rare Jug from Dixon & Co of Sunderland, very well decorated with an excellent transfer of the iconic bridge over the River Wear, the name of the pottery incorporated into the transfer. On the reverse side a maritime verse within a splendid coloured script border below a ship in full sail and, again, the pottery firm's name incorporated into the design. Below the spout an image of a forlorn looking lady standing over an anchor.
Circa 1813-19
Approx - 6 inches (150mm) tall.
In good condition throughout save a rapier to the spout.
