Description:
A stupendous jug with a wonderful geometric shape and design, from the horizontal beading on the tall, shaped neck through to the fluted base with its one horizontal band. A stylish, angular handle with impressive terminals and very well executed floral decoration, typical of this famous pottery.
The simple inscription 'CHURCH and KING' so evocative, a superb piece.
Circa 1780
Approx - 6.5 inches (165mm) tall.
In very good condition throughout with some restoration to the handle. Typical, minor paint losses and scratching.
